Patrice Powers-Barker is a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) and she works to implement Ruby Green Smiths’ description of Family and Consumer Sciences, “where science and art meet life and practices.” Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College and a Master of Arts in Family Life Education (FLE) from Spring Arbor University. She enjoys helping families evaluate their daily habits and to make individual as well as family goals to practice healthy and smart living. She works with families on topics such as: wellness, food safety, household budgeting, mindfulness, local foods, and universal design. Patrice loves spending time with family, treasuring the four seasons of Northwest Ohio and appreciating the abundance of her local community.
