Jess Burns is a 4‑H Educator with a focus on Making the Best Better in Lucas County, Ohio. Serving communities from urban centers to rural edges, she helps youth discover their spark through 4‑H. Since 2022, her work has emphasized strong communities and inclusive, well‑rounded programming. She received her Bachelor of Science at West Virginia University in Wildlife and Fisheries Management. After a short career as a biologist for the US Army, Jess realized she needed a career that would allow her to work with youth and get them excited about natural resources. That is when she found 4-H and got her start in Newport News, Virginia. She went on to earn her Masters of Natural Resources in Global Sustainability from Virginia Polytechnical Institute. Jess is a proud member of NAE4-HYDP, JCEP, Sigma Alpha Alumni, Lucas County Agriculutral Society.
