Holly Ball joined the Ohio State University Extension in May of 2017.
While gaining her Bachelors of Social Work at Central Michigan University, Holly served as an AmeriCorps Member for 4-H Mentor Michigan Initiative through Michigan State University Extension. She went on to work as a Social Worker in Detroit then Portland Oregon. After returning to the Midwest in 2010, Holly began her chapter with United Way of Greater Toledo. In the five years she was there, Holly grew the Volunteer Center as it's Manager, led advocacy efforts as Public Policy Lead, and helped to steward a combined $13.8 million in community investments through managing nonprofit partnerships impacting access to healthcare and increasing healthy lifestyles. As a firm believer in the value of strategic volunteerism, Holly is a Certified Volunteer Administrator and has lead state-wide volunteer management efforts through past Presidency of the Ohio Volunteer Center Association. She is also a Service Enterprise Facilitator through Points of Light.
Committed to continuous improvement, Holly worked as a Consultant serving the diverse organizational needs throughout the state of Michigan and Northwest Ohio. She shared her experience to further develop leadership and governance, build programmatic capacity, design strategic plans, implement fiscal management best practices, and foster successful collaborations.
An avid activist, Holly has provided further guidance to NGO/Nonprofit work by having served on Boards of Directors such as The Salvation Army, Northeast Ohio, YMCA Storer Camps, and Ohio Volunteer Center Association. She is the current President of Directors of Volunteers In Agencies, founding Board Member of The Selene Center and involved with addtional community initiatives and groups.
