Summer 2017 will be the conclusion of this afterschool cooking club. One part of the program that will continue is the BLENDR B1KE 48 (Lucas County). The youth love to demonstrate how physical activity and healthy eating are a great partnership. For more information on the 2017 bike tour click here.

A Toledo Public Schools as Community Hubs site is one of two sites in Ohio to be part of the Ignite, Sparking Youth to Create Healthy Communities grant. This grant is geared toward sixth through eighth graders to create healthy choices for themselves, within their school and community. The main goal is to encourage adolescents to overcome barriers to eating more fruits, vegetables and whole grains and becoming more active. The youth participate in an afterschool cooking club.
