The mission of Generation Rx is to educate people of all ages about safe medication practices. Prescription medications can help us live longer and healthier lives, but any medication has the potential to do harm – especially when misused.Generation Rx key messages are simple:

  • Take medication exactly as prescribed
  • Store prescrition drugs in locked and secure locations and properly dispose of medications that you no longer need
  • Promote safe medication practices and teach others to do the same

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and the Cardinal Health Foundation developed Generation Rx, which aims to education people of all ages about the potential dangers of misusing prescription medications. In doing so, we strive to enhance medication safety among our:

  • youth (elementary and teens)
  • college students
  • adults
  • seniors
  • patients
  • worksites

Generation Rx offers free educational resources on medication safety online www.generationrx.org . Through a mini-grant provided by  Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and Cardinal Health, Ohio State University Extension, Lucas County will host two community training sessions (same session, two different times) on the Generation Rx tool kit. The Generation Rx training will be Tuesday March 27th at Maumee Library. Please use the links for more information on the two different times:  Generation Rx 3:00-4:30pm OR Generation Rx 6:00 - 7:30pm.

Thank you for your help in promoting healthier and safer habits across the lifespan.
