In April 2014, Senate bill 150 passed in the Ohio Assembly requiring farmers who operate over 50 acres to complete a fertilizer applicator certification course.  This law applies to broadcast fertilizer and sidedress/topdress nitrogen.  Farmers have until September 2017 to complete the certification.  Those who do not already have a pesticide license are required to attend a 3 hour course.  There is no cost to attend but please RSVP by calling 419-213-2029, or emailing stone.91@osu.edu

Ohio Master Urban Farmer Workshop Series The Ohio Master Urban Farmer Workshop Series is a new program developed by OSU Extension as an outgrowth of planning for part of the new Extension in The City program. This series of nine evening workshops is designed to help individuals learn how to produce and market all kinds of food in urban settings. While the workshop’s content will be introductory, individuals who already have some experience growing or marketing food products are invited to participate.
