    Ohio Master Urban Farmer Workshop Series The Ohio Master Urban Farmer Workshop Series is a new program developed by OSU Extension as an outgrowth of planning for part of the new Extension in The City program. This series of nine evening workshops is designed to help individuals learn how to produce and market all kinds of food in urban settings. While the workshop’s content will be introductory, individuals who already have some experience growing or marketing food products are invited to participate.

    This overview will highlight common food preservation techniques such as canning, freezing and drying of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from the home garden or farmers’ markets.  This free overview session is open to those who have never done home food preservation as well as experienced home preservationists who would like keep up to date on researched recommendations.     While local foods in Ohio are abundant all year, we recognize this week as a time to highlight all the local food options in our region.OSU Extension, Lucas County will kick-off the week on August 8th, Sneak a Zucchini on Your Neighbor's Porch at the Toledo Farmers' Market.
