Ohio Victory Gardens is a project of the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Ohio State University (OSU) Extension with the goal to distribute seeds to gardeners in 50 Ohio counties. The purpose of the 4 sample seed packets in the larger Ohio Victory Gardens seed envelope is to encourage Ohioans to plant a garden, and empower people to grow some of their own food.

Lucas County is one of the 50 counties that has been chosen to distribute these seed packets. A total of 300 packets will be available for distribution at two different distribution times, with one being the distribution in partnership and hosted by the ProMedica Ebeid Institute in Toledo, Ohio. You will find Extension Master Gardener Volunteers in Uptown Green Park, 1904 Madison Avenue, next to the ProMedica Ebeid Institute, and the Market on the Green. Seed distribution hours will be from 11 am - 1 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Seeds packets will be available on a first come, first serve basis, and one packet will be available per person or family.

There is ample free parking located all around the building and park area. Participants will be asked to fill out a brief survey to be used for evaluation and impact purposes with the goal to continue this project through the support of a USDA Specialty Crop Grant.
