Do you, your neighbors, or your faith-based commuity have an interest in gardening? Consider starting a community garden or growing extra produce for donation to local food banks and food pantries. 

Details About the Workshop:

This workshop will provide you with information and skills to begin a community garden. Breakout Sessions include (your choice of one per session):

Session 1: Digging In: Getting Your Garden Started or Frugal Measures: Saving Money, Finding Money

Session 2: Planting The Seeds of Engagement; Getting and Maintaining Volunteer Support or Challenges in the Urban Environment Part 1

Session 3: Bearing Fruit: Understanding and Evaluating Commuity Impact or Solutions for Urban Environment Part 2 

Additional resources include a discussion panel with local community gardeners; information and displays from Lucas County Extension, Toledo GROWs, Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District, USDA, Metroparks Toledo, Multifaith Grows, Sacred Grounds and other horticulture, food, and environmental organizations.
